  • Poetry Today’s May theme is TRAVEL. Feel free to submit poems (your own or one by another poet). I will read the thread throughout the month as I curate my monthly round up of Poems for Your Weekend.

  • Doors to my online writing community Conscious Writers Collective open again on May 1. We meet five times a month for classes taught by me, publishing experts, and some of the best writers in the world. All classes are recorded + membership gives you access to 100+ hours of courses. It’s a uniquely supportive, life-changing community. Enrollment is limited. Join the waitlist here. ✨

Hello, dear friends,

I’m writing to share two upcoming live sessions with you. And yes: replays will be available for Paid Subscribers.

Ask Me Anything / Q&A

I’m hosting my first ever AMA—Ask me Anything—a 1-hour session for us to meet and discuss anything that’s on your mind about poetry, publishing, literary criticism, mindset, and wonder. I would love to hear any questions you have that might help you approach your own Substack and poetry with greater confidence or to simply help guide you towards new writers I think you might enjoy. I run these sessions monthly in CWC, but I’m very happy to offer my first to my Poetry Today community on Sunday, May 4th, from 12-1 PM EST. (Link below the paywall.)

Live with
Sean Singer
(The Sharpener):

Paid Subscribers can also join me for a Q&A and conversation about curating and writing poetry with Yale Series of Younger Poets winner and teacher Sean Singer on April 29th, from 12-1 PM EST.

I adore Sean’s curatorial selections on Substack and he’s exceptionally articulate and thoughtful about craft. I’m really looking forward to our discussion—we’ve been friends for over 15 years, and I’m so grateful for his presence and example in poetry.
